Ichigo Play Arts Kai figure is absolutely beautiful
My daughter is a big fan of Bleach and this figure was what she most desired for her birthday.I had this figure ordered when it was still just a concept. I was hoping it looked like as good as the concept photos. I am happy to say this figure does not disappoint. I am not a Bleach fan and even I think this action figure is nothing less than totally gorgeous. The detail on this figure is amazing. The figure captures Ichigo perfect . The Toynami and Megahouse Ichigo action figures don't even compare to this figure . This figure is totally poseable but I will admit the joints need improvement. This is heavy and huge in size. The figure ranges in height from 9-10 inches. I was also very impressed and surprised when I found out he comes with 2 interchangeable heads and sets of hands. One head is the one you see pictured and the other is Ichigo with his hollow mask on. If you are a Bleach fan this is definitely the item to have.

Classic Horror Trilogy on Blu-ray
This is one of my all time favorite horror series. All three movies look and sound better than I have ever seen. The original Omen comes loaded with extra features on Blu-ray. Omen 2 and 3 however have nothing extra on them that did not appear on the DVD editions. This was a little disappointing for me. At least they could have thrown in a trivia track or something. The Omen remake is the same exact disc that was previously released on Blu. My one BIG complaint about this set would have to be the packaging. Considering the price of the set, it comes packaged in a very shoddily made box. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be "Earth Friendly" by not using any plastic housing for the discs, but Fox seriously dropped the ball on the packaging. The outer case has very cool artwork, but it is not sturdy at all. The movies are housed on a fold out inner jacket where each movie is simply held in place with a foam rubber hub. There is no booklet or anything else. Not only is the box cheaply constructed, it is also waaaay too big for a Blu-ray. It is about the size of a regular DVD, which causes it to really stick out amongst the rest of my collection.

Bottom Line: If you love the Omen series as much as I, you won't be disappointed with the actual movies. However, be warned that the packaging is really not in keeping with other sets in this price range (e.g. The Matrix, The Godfather)

The Omen Collection - Review
Packaging: 20th Century Fox should be ashamed of the packaging for this disc set. I have collected movies for over 25 years. This included VHS, LaserDisc, DVDs and Blu-Rays. I currently own over 3500 DVD/Blu-Rays. I typically don't submit reviews, but the Omen (original) is one of my favorite movies. Regrettably, the packaging is one of the worst I've seen. It remindes me of the cheap Warner Brother's cardboard covers. But worse, this cover doesn't even have standard spindle retainers. The cover is a thin (too thin) carboard with adhesive circular foam spindles. On the copy I receive the "security tag" was glued to the foam spindle. In order to remove the disc, I had to pull off the security tag which in turn pulled off the spindle. I now have a new collection with 1 disc that won't stay in the case.

Move/Transfer: The movies are great. The Omen 1 and 2 hold up well and are great movies. The Omen III is not up to par with the first 2, but completes the series. The new version does not have the magic of the original Omen (missing the well acted transformation of Gregory Peck). The video and audio transfers are both very good.

Despite the packaging, I'm happy to see the collection on Blu-Ray. I may try and purchase each movie seperately in an effort to get the standard Blu-Ray covers. The packaging issue is not limited to The Omen. The irregular packaging of The Planet of the Apes suffers as well. When will the studios spend the extra 20 cents and standardize the packaging which will help with disc storage, and with disc protection over time.

Great Transfers, sound etc.. but
The cardboard case should have been a plastic blu ray case. It was delivered to me crushed from shipping. Discs were fine though. The case wasn't destroyed or even too damaged but I am a person who gets annoyed at small imperfections and the several creases in the case bother me. One other complaint: It should have included Omen 4, even though it was a truly bad made for TV movie it should have been in there.

The good: The transfer looked great. The sound was equally as good. Lots of extras.

4 stars would have been 5 if Omen 4 was included

Thank God these Zhu Zhu pets work! Have plenty of AAA batteries in stock...
I got up early and was able to get Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters at WalMart. So glad because I know they are selling out stores because I've been calling everywhere.

Anyway, my kids have been playing with them all day. And then hair got wrapped around the little wheel and I thought one had broke so I spent forever trying to get the hair off -- but that's not what was making an additional squealing noise and making the wheels stop turning.

The little Zhu Zhu pets hamsters just needed new batteries. They came with 2 AAA batteries from the manufacturer -- and I'm sure they weren't in the store that long so that little hands could've worn out the batteries thru the "try me" window.

They must've just come with batteries not as good as the ones I changed them into. Because I just popped in some Duracel or whatever batteries -- and now the Zhu Zhu Pets run even faster than when we first bought them this morning.

My children are playing with them as I write.

Now we want all the Zhu Zhu pets in the collection -- and the accessories. Maybe by Christmas or before...

We now have 3 Zhu Zhu pets and they are adorable, just like having the real thing without the cleanup!!! Looking forward to purchasing the other items to make them a home of their own. My daughter is 8 and just loves them. I like picking them up and holding them, they are so soft.

Real Toy review!!!
This is the base toy for all of the Zhu Zhu or Go Go pets sets... It is the hamsters house.. They know what room they are in and act accordingly.. Brush teeth in the bathroom and sleep in bed.. This set has kept my children entertained for hours!!! It has gotten me out of having to buy a real Hamster and when they don't feel like playing with it - they don't have to or feel neglectful. No smell and no buying food.. I can not wait for the babies and outfits to come out. They be expensive right now because of the high demand. but still well worth it. Enjoy!!!

AWESOME FUN! My little girl LOVES these Zhu Zhu pets!!
I purchased the entire set and my daughter ablsolutely loves them! She plays with it constantly. She is 4 and takes the pets everywhere she goes...just really, really cute!

Not worth the hype
My daughter wanted these after seeing them advertised on TV numerous times. If you buy the toys for regular price at Wal-Mart or ToysRUs then it's not so bad because they are very cheaply made. The funhouse comes unsnapped frequently--very cheap plastic parts. The hamster ball is also cheap and comes unsnapped, and the hamsters flip on their backs frequently and you have to open the ball and put them back on their feet.

The hamsters themselves are cute BUT they flip over alot when used with the component pieces and you have to put them right side up to work. They are also a bit noisey--you can hear the wheels. My daughter lost interest in them very quickly. Paying more than the base price for them is paying way too much---especially the component pieces. She has the funhouse, the blanket, the carrier, the ball, the surfboard, and the car, plus all 4 hamsters. We bought everything at once.

In summary, don't pay these outrageous prices for a cheaply made toy!

Cute toy
These pets are really cute and fun to play with. My son is 6 and he really likes to play with these.

Very cute for $7...don't pay any more than that...wait it out!!
I guess these are flying off the shelves in some places & online. I had no problem buying my son three & could have bought more. I bought the gray, brown & yellow ones. Of course now he wants the white. He told me that they make different colored ones now like pink????? Okay....LOL. Oh & the ball too.
I think the negative reviews are to warn parents about how much these are retailed to sell for so that they don't get ripped off. I wouldn't know how much it cost if I didn't read the reviews so I am glad someone posted them.

Zhu Zhu Zooming Through My Room!
Picked up two of these guys the other day since they happened to be in the store and I happened to be in the store. A little bit of background first: I'm a 26 year-old collector of many things including robotic pets. I've tried out Furbys, Micropets, Neopets, Scoozie pets, Petal-chi, Mutsu, Fureal Friends, and more so I consider myself a bit of an expert on the subject.

To start with, these things eat batteries, have triple A's on hand. Second, I don't have any playsets, I'm just testing the hamsters.

Upon opening and removing this little guy I tried out "cuddle mode", which was a little disappointing. The hamster will lie still and make cute noises every few seconds or so but he isn't really responding to anything. "Try me mode" is when the hamster is off but you can push his nose to hear a random noise, not a lot of fun there. Now play mode, that's where the fun is. The wheels are fast and the grip is really strong, I promptly put it on my boyfriend to see if it would climb up his shirt and it did, hit the back of the couch, made a springy noise and ran back down. Even he cracked up at it. It tackles carpet and all hard surfaces no problem, and makes a ton of different noises, some 40 in all, and each of the four designs sounds unique!. You have to be careful around stairs but all in all it does what it was made to do and cheaply at that. At normal retail they're cheaper than most action figures.

(I got mine at normal retail and I suggest you wait until you can too. If you have kids and can't find them try giving a cute IOU written from the hamster saying how it will come to live with your child after X-mas. They have a guarantee from you, you have a kid who still has something to look forward to after December. All is well.)

Remember these are for ages 3 and up and have motorized parts. It says in the instruction to supervise your child, so do so. Risk is probably minimal but if you have a kid you wouldn't give a RC car to then they're probably too little for these.

So to wrap up

Good: Funny and varied sounds, cheap, cute, runs fast and randomly, fascinates my dog!
Bad: Hard to find (for now), eats batteries, can pinch, can be broken with a moderate impact.

A rodent on wheels
This was purchased for my daughter. I was afraid it would be one of those toys purchased then set aside. It's funny and makes cute noises, is responsive to being petted, and rolls all over the house.

Still, it is now a dust collector after a month. If only we could convince the child to contribute to her own college fund.... sigh..... anyone want to buy a slightly used rolling hamster???

A cute little toy
My daughter has been saving her allowance for the last few weeks hoping to find these and today we stumbled across them at TRU for retail price. For the $10 price tag she's been very entertained this afternoon. The creature makes a variety of chirping, beeping, and random noises as it whirls around. It works much better on a tile, vinyl, or hardwood surface than on carpet. You can either have it in a cuddle type mode where you press its head and it chitters at you or press the back and it'll run around randomly. It's a sweet toy although noisier than I expected. The store clerk said that production is supposed to meet demand in a few weeks as Christmas draws closer. For $10 we're happy, but I'm not sure it's worth 2 or 3 times as much as it is a rather simple toy.

Smaller than expected
This was purchased for my 8 year old son. It was smaller than I imagined, but still worthwhile. We made the car, and it fits in the palm of my son's hand. He did need some help assembling it, and will most likely need assistance to change it from one configuration to another. It seem at bit on the fragile side, so it is better for solo play than with friends. He really likes that it is solar, but if it does not have direct sun or strong indoor light, it doesn't have enough power to move. Now the child want a solar flashlight to shine on his solar car.

An emotional triumph
Here's a movie for dog lovers, the elderly, children of divorce, FOBs (Friends of Birds), former Boy Scouts, people yearning for adventure, and anyone who has ever loved... and lost. Up is for everyone. It made me laugh out loud, and it made me cry.

I thought it would be tough for Up to match the emotional power of Wall-E. The two Pixar films are similar in their lack of dialogue in the first act, which helps deepen the emotional impact. Up begins with Carl, a shy young boy star-struck by a famous explorer; and kookie Ellie, who has a similar obsession. The two kids become fast friends, and vow to one day travel to Venezuela's Paradise Falls. After getting married, they buy their dream home and fix it up, hoping to fill it with children. Carl and Ellie's life together from childhood through old age is depicted, silently, with delicacy and subtlety. The first 15 minutes is like a celebration of a happy marriage, and you truly feel Carl's pain when he is left alone. He sits slumped in his chair, talking to the house as if it is the missing Ellie.

When developers close in on Carl's beloved home, he decides to fulfill his promise to Ellie and travel to Paradise Falls. A former balloon vendor, Carl lifts his home with hundreds of colorful balloons. Stowing away on the porch is Russell, a plump, plucky kid trying to earn a scouting badge.

After landing in Paradise Falls, the old man and the little boy are joined by a golden retriever named Dug who can talk with his collar, and a huge rare bird that bonds with Russell (he names her "Kevin"). Dug is priceless: spot-on for every dog that ever lived, including an obsession with squirrels. Through a series of close calls and adventures, the quartet vanquishes a villain, saving the day. And Russell earns his scouting badge.

In the process, Carl learns to let go of his sad mourning for Ellie, and live life again. When this happens, a truly magical thing happens. Before, Carl's craggy face is gray and monochromatic. At the moment of his transformation, Carl's face is awash in color, and he is surrounded by beautiful hues. It reminded me of The Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy steps out of her gray world and into a candy-colored Munchkinland. Carl, too, enters a whole new world.

Up is a deeply emotional film, full of truth. It's the year's best film. Score another triumph for Pixar.

A paradigm shift, a complete triumph
1. I've watched most (perhaps all) of the pixar movies and have enjoyed most (all) of them (Cars is my favorite).

2. Thus, I went to this movie expected to enjoy it, like all of the previous Pixar movies. However, I came away from the theater completely blown away by the "awesomeness" of it. Up is a paradigm shift for Pixar and animation films--> it has a nice / funny story for kids but also has a very poignant story for adults, which in many ways couldn't be told as well via normal film making.

3. Bottomline: go see Up and be blessed--> and as a result, be thankful for the life you've had and have.

The most real 3D animated movie I've ever seen.
No, I'm not talking about the quality of the animation or the effects. This movie is a huge fantasy that begins at the end of a life that just didn't turn out the way someone wanted it to. He wanted adventure, he got a home and a job. He wanted kids, and his wife couldn't have them. And now, just as he's crossed the line and it about to get hauled off to the rest home to run out the clock, the adventure begins! And, what adventure!

Without giving away the detail, I belive this picure will be an enduring classic right up there with Toy Story. I even like it better than the brilliant Wall-E, because it's more real. The envirnomental message resonates with some, but I think many more can relate to life just not working out the way it was planned, of hopes and dreams being crushed, at the looming end of everything. But still, adventure is out there!

And, actually getting to meet one's hero can turn out in a way you don't expect, and not necessarily good.

This is an animated movie with a mind and a soul, when so many seem to have neither. And dogs are always funny, right? Woof!

Too small, too expensive
These figures are *very* small and do not move. There are small limbs that can bend or can break off. I was expecting a larger set of toys and moveable parts, given the price. These figures aren't any better than the "free" toys that come with certain meals for kids...which are taller and can move and make sounds.

He's no ordinary kid - he's Ben 10
Healthily into its third season, it's only now that BEN 10's freshman year is finally coming out in dvd in all its thirteen episode glory. Debuting in December 27, 2005 on the Cartoon Network, BEN 10 was an immediate hit with the fans as the show, boasting a very cool concept, proved to be fun and eminently watchable. Plus, that theme song rocks.

The premise: Ordinary 10 year old Ben Tennyson comes upon a mysterious alien artifact (resembling a wristwatch) which grants him temporary access to the forms of ten alien species, each of whom is inherently imbued with its own superhuman ability. In the constant company of his wise and benign grandfather Max (who hints of an enigmatic past, proving that being a "plumber" is more exciting than one would think) and his clever, sassy cousin Gwen (who he initially dislikes), Ben, early on, learns his lessons as he heroically attempts to abide by the famous Spidey quote: "With great power comes great responsibility." But his attempts to live up to that credo are at constant odds with his more carefree and mischievous pre-adolescent tendencies. Accordingly, he strives to use his new-found super powers to nab villains, all the while keeping at bay the maurauding alien, octopus-faced Vilgax, who will stop at nothing to own the Omnitrix. But, as civic minded as he has become, that doesn't mean that young Ben can't have any fun...

The hook, of course, is that this young, normal kid all of a sudden gains and gets to play with the powers of ten formidable alien beings. Part of the fun is in witnessing Ben discover all the diverse forms (some of which are strange and kinda gross, and one, Ghostfreak, even really unnerving) he comes to inhabit and his varying reactions to 'em. These ten beings are rendered as visually striking and colorful, my two personal favorites being Heatblast and Upgrade. And, oh, yeah, for those who were wondering, these ten aliens whose shapes and abilities Ben can borrow, in no particular order, are: Upgrade (a biomechanical being who can integrate itself into any machine and instantly improve upon or "upgrade" it), Four Arms (a bruising, 12-foot-tall, four-armed alien with awesome strength), Heatblast (an incendiary individual whose race dwells on a sun), Diamondhead (the near invulnerable, crystalline being), XLR8 (capable of immense super speed), Ripjaws (the aquatic alien), Grey Matter (the miniscule alien, standing at 5" tall), Ghostfreak (creepy and spectre-like), Stinkfly (a winged insectoid alien), and Wildmutt (a quilled, bestial creature).

And, now, for the self-righteous, holier-than-thou part of the review: this show is perfectly catered for our impressionable young 'uns. With the expected, patented family values, as well as the mainstay credo of trying to do the right thing, being wholesomely espoused throughout the episodes (and in a non-sanctimonious way), kids should find themselves entertained as they are simultaneously taught the classic, goody-two-shoes virtues. The interactions among Ben, Grandpa Max, and Gwen are nicely portrayed as his supportive gramps and his more mature cousin strive to keep the impulsive Ben on the proper path (because Ben does lose it and act out every now and then).

Its cartoony animation is well suited to BEN 10, meshing with the show's sensibilities. This series is meant to be light, innocent, and fun-filled, in spite of all the heavy sci-fi action, and these qualities are perfectly conveyed by the clean lines and caricatured look. Young kids certainly wouldn't mind, and Ben's otherworldly personas are depicted in a nifty and energetic enough manner. The look and style of BEN 10, actually, leans towards the anime style and recalls TEEN TITANS to mind. I kinda like it.

Now, the minuses. Other than the very alluring hook of being ten different superheroes, there's really nothing new about this series. One improvement I can think of is that this show would be better served with more cohesion and more episodic continuity. Multi-part episodes would be very welcome. As it is right now, the formulaic plot has the Tennyson family travelling to some destination, only to encounter the supervillain flavor-of-the-week (although several of these baddies are sicced on by the series's main villain, Vilgax). Don't get me wrong, there is some character development and these are pretty cool stand alone episodes, but BEN 10 seemingly lacks that certain focus; and the show's story arc and plot progression are developing too slowly for my taste. But, hey, that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop watching this series. When you get to the nitty-gritty, BEN 10 is just too much fun to miss out. Not to mention, Seasons 2 and 3 do offer up several great episodes ("Gwen 10" and "Ben 10,000," to name but two).

By the way, from what I've read on Wikipedia, the Special Features will include several episode commentaries, interviews with the showmakers, a creator drawing lesson, and a collectible poster.

Here we go with the episodes:

"And Then There Were Ten" (episode one) - On a summer cross-country trip via motorhome with his Grandpa Max and his disliked cousin Gwen, Ben Tennyson ends up with the powerful Omnitrix. But, intergalactic conqueror Vilgax is intent on gaining possession of the Omnitrix and sends his robots to get it.

"Washington B.C." (episode two) - Ben goes up against Dr. Animo, a loony but brilliant scientist who created the Transmodulator, an invention which enlarges and distorts normal animals into gigantic, dangerous beasts.

"The Krakken" (episode three) - While camping out and taking a swim in a lake, Ben bumps into a sea monster.

"Permanent Retirement" (episode four) - In a homage to (or a blatant rip off of) INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, Ben, Max, and Gwen visit Aunt Vera's tiny town and discover that the residents are exhibiting very weird behavior.

"Hunted" (episode five) - Vilgax sends three alien bounty hunters (Kraab, SixSix, and Hoverboard) after Ben's Omnitrix.

"Tourist Trap" (episode six) - Feeling let down and bitterly bored with the tourist town of Sparksville and its main attraction of a giant ball of rubber bands, Max decides to play a prank but, instead, unleashes an electrical being called the Megawhatt.

"Kevin 11" (episode seven) - Ben meets and hangs out with the psychotic, 11-year-old Kevin, who has the power to absorb energy. When Kevin learns of Ben's Omnitrix powers, he begins to absorb those.

"The Alliance" (episode eight) - Ben goes up against an ornery female armored car robber who had been converted into a destructive alien cyborg named Rojo.

"Last Laugh" (episode nine) - We find out that Ben is afraid of clowns, which sucks for him because the main baddie in this episode is an evil, parasitic clown named Zombozo.

"Lucky Girl" (episode ten) - When Ben beats the wicked magician Hex, he takes from him a magical charm as a souvenir and offers it to Gwen. Gwen discovers that the charm has the power of incredible luck and becomes a superhero herself, called Lucky Girl. But, there's no such thing as a free lunch, and a prize must be paid for all of Gwen's fortuitousness...

"A Small Problem" (episode eleven) - When there appears to be a glitch with the Omnitrix, Ben pounds the device in an attempt to activate it and ends up trapped in the form of the 5" tall Grey Matter. An alien-obssessed man named Howell Wayneright captures him and presents him to the Organization, a clandestine group aiming to collect alien technology for its own purposes.

"Side Effects" (episode twelve) - When Ben catches a cold, it has the side effect of weakening his powerful alter-egos; it's bad timing as he has to face off against an insect-controlling madman, who threatens the city with nuclear devastation.

"Secrets" (episode thirteen) - It's the head alien, Vilgax himself, versus Ben 10. Plus, we get a first look at the underground facility beneath Mount Rushmore, which is the HQ of Grandpa Max's former covert and X-Files-like goverment organization.

It's all the rage with 8-year old boys...
My son (who is almost 9) really loves this show. The animation and plot lines remind me (a little bit) of the Scooby-Do series that I watched as a kid. The twist here is that the hero in this series can transform himself into 10 different creatures with different types of powers. I think this is a pretty cool show, and I like the character of Ben.

This is the *bomb* for younger kids.
This show is the new "transformers", the new "Voltron" of our generation. My son loves it, and it's actuallly interesting enough for me to watch as well. Seeing how Ben deals with problems, and which person he's going to use to solve them is really cool. It's a good show, and I recommend it for your younger kids. Some mild violence, but other than that, it's a HIT!

Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts.

Great fun and even better for HP fanatics. Only annoying part is the

tedious potion making and the shortness of the game. I finished the

game in a day and a half. The most challenging aspect is the collecting of

crests, some of which are well hidden. But, the dueling is great fun!

After having played previous versions of this game, I was disappointed that some of the other lines of play had disappeared in this version.

However, this is a wonderfully challenging game. Even once your past the story line, provided you didn't collect everything along the way,there's a lot of items to collect and things to accomplish which makes it even more fun.

I do wish that they would have brought out a guide althought the new feature of Nearly Headless Nick escorting you around does provide relief from frustration of previous incarnations of the game.

I highly recommend this game for any Harry Potter fan.

Great game. Graphics are great once adjusted in the game's options menu. Controls use both mouse and w a d s like in the older Potter games. I only started playing it for a few hours today but so far it's been really fun. Some of the spells take practice to do half way decent, like Wingardium Leviosa, and potion mixing.

EA took all of our opinions about the older games to heart I think because this time they included almost all of our favorite aspects that we loved so much in the previous games, and left out the stuff we hated.

In this one we collect crests, both hidden and obvious, cast spells, duel, explore, and Harry wears a gorgeous red cape in some parts. The flying is MUCH easier, so is quidditch. Dueling is easier, too.

It's storyline play is set up like the older games..Harry is assigned a task or two, then a cut scene (can turn on subtitles in options menu), then more tasks, more cut scenes etc. Harry sometimes has to follow another character somewhere but he doesn't always have Ron or Hermoine dogging his every move. There's freedom to explore the HUGE castle and its grounds. It's not like Goblet of Fire at all, it's more like Prizoner of Azkaban.

Great game, glad I bought it.

Make sure your PC system meets min requirements before buying. No less than 512 MB of RAM or more for Vista (256 MB min for XP), 1.8 Ghz or faster, 5 GB hard drive space, Direct X 9.0c or compatible video card.

My laptop is 1.6 Ghz processor speed, cut scenes are kind of slow and choppy on occasion but game play is fine.

---Just as a helpful note to those who buy this:

The game can be played two ways..either whizzing right through it by using Nearly Headless Nick all of the time and not doing any of the side challenges OR, by taking your time, exploring w/o Nick's help, talking to the other students and characters (walk up to them and hit Return key..they are the ones who dole out the side challenges), finding all of the crests and mini crests, joining the clubs, and earning all of the badges and rewards. If you choose to whiz right through, there is an 'Endless Day' after the credits role so you can go back and complete the other stuff but it's nowhere near as fun as taking your time and doing them all as you go along in the game.

Just wanted to point that out because if you whiz right through and ignore the rest you'll probably feel short-changed on the length of the game.

Well, the potential was there, but once again Bay over-exaggerated stereo types and continues to believe big explosions outweigh the importance of plot and reality. For example, is every single woman in Bay's universe a goddess from Paradise Island? Would our hero's girl really be seductively sprawling out over a motorcycle with no one around but her FATHER? In order to give some of the characters a bit of "edge" do we really want to believe they'd sound like uneducated ghetto-bots? The "Twins" were more like Jar Jar meets C3PO in Harlem. For me there is nothing worse than sophisticated robots acting like our society at its uneducated worse--racial clichés, foul language, and LEG HUMPING! Yes, a transformer that dry humps a girl's leg! Bay left nothing to the imagination this time. He even gave us a giant set of robot testicles. Thanks Michael, "You're a genius!"

As I continue to rant and rave...um I mean offer constructive criticism...when's the last time you've been to a frat party? Did it look ANYTHING like what Bay envisions? I have to wonder if he's ever been on a college campus. Once again, in Bay's universe, all "hot chicks" are horny and the jocks are brick-stupid bullies. Government officials are stubborn, uniformed boobs, who one would have to wonder how they ever got put in that position in the first place. Being in the military myself, I found it very insulting how government officials treated our military. Ripping off someone's rank in the manner Galloway did would NEVER happen (at least not in public fashion). Oh, and for the record there is absolutely NO WAY Tech Sergeant Epps would go from an E-5 (TSgt) to an E-9 (CMSgt) in TWO YEARS no matter how "Classified" the project was. I won't delve too far into the military façade depicted in this movie, but I do have to mention I was almost excited for a moment. When the predator was taking off they actually got it right--it's, after all, propeller driven. Then as it arrived on scene it was once again JET PROPELLED! I think Bay infused the Predator with the Global Hawk to make it cooler for the uninformed viewer.

My last gripe would be the apparent lack of time in this film. The characters seemed to move freely through space and time (maybe they had an upgraded flux capacitor). In Bay's Universe it only takes a camera shift to go from Saturn to Earth, from Diego Garcia to the East Coast, from the East Coast to the Middle East, and all countries in the Middle East are as close as your neighborhood convenient store. Having flown across the Atlantic more times than I'd care to count let me tell you--It's an ALL DAY event. Add the extra day it would take to get to the Indian Ocean and you have one LONG movie--oh wait, this was 2 ½ hours. My bad.

Well, this has already gone on longer than I had intended so I'll end with; the explosions were fun, the transformers looked amazing (aside from the Twins), the acting was as good as it could be given the script, and Bay was...well, BAY!

An action packed adventure from Director Michael Bay. The Autobots and Decepticons continue their civil war on Earth. The Decepticons are searching for the Matrix of Leadership, a tool which can be used to harvest energy to recreate Cybertron in their own image. The Autobots have allied themselves with N.E.S.T, an international group of human soldiers dedicated to protecting Earth from the Decepticons. When The Fallen, one of the original 13 Transformers, revives Megatron and sends him to capture Sam Whitwiky (Shia LeBouf), the Autobots and Decepticons battle for control. The film delivers on a truly epic scale with lots of Robots fighting, explosions and a worthy adventure. This movie assaults the mind on several levels, but is easy to follow. While it isn't an Oscar worthy film, it delivers exactly what it advertises - Transforming robots beating the crap out of each other. If you were a fan of the first film, you'll love this one.

"Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen" is great! This is how the story goes: With the help of the Autobots, the soldiers of NEST, and an old adversary-turned-ally, Sam and Mikaela must uncover the secret history of the Transformers presence on earth, and the sacrifices that have to be made to save it from an ancient threat sworn on returning here for revenge... an ancient Decepticon named THE FALLEN.

The cast led by Shia LaBeouf (as Sam) & Megan Fox (as Mikaela) is great! The directing by Michael Bay (also executive produced) (who also directed the first "Transformers" (2007), he also produced "The Unborn" (2009), "Friday The 13th" (2009) and is also producing the upcoming remake to "A Nightmare On Elm Street" (2010) is great! The story and screenplay by Ehren Kruger (who also did the story and screenplay to "Scream 3" (2000), "The Ring" (2002) and its sequel (2005), Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman (both also did the story and screenplay to the first "Transformers", they also did the story and screenplay to "Mission: Impossible III" (2006, which was directed by J.J. Abrams), & "Star Trek" (2009, which they executive produced and which was also directed by Abrams), they also produced "Eagle Eye" (2008, which was directed by D.J. Caruso and starred LaBeouf, they also worked together on "Disturbia" (2007) is great!

The music by Steve Jablonsky (who also did the music to the first "Transformers" & "Friday The 13th", he also did the music to "The Island" (2005, which was also directed by Bay) is great! The cinematography by Ben Seresin is great! The film editing by Roger Barton (who also did the film editing to "Speed Racer" (2008), "Bad Boys II" (2003, which was also directed by Bay), "Pearl Harbor" (2001, which was also directed by Bay), "The Amityville Horror" (2005, which was also produced by Bay) & "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith" (2005), Thomas A. The art direction by Julian Ashby (who also did the art direction to "Troy" & "National Treasure: Book Of Secrets" (2007), was an assistant art director on "The Island"), Jon Billington (supervising art director) (who also did the art direction on "Troy" & "The Island"), Naaman Marshall (who also did the art direction to "Apocalypto" (2006), "Eagle Eye", & "The Dark Knight" (2008), & Ben Procter (who is also doing the art direction to the upcoming "Avatar" (2009) is great! The set decoration by Jennifer Williams (who also did the set decoration to "Pearl Harbor" & "Bad Boys II") is great! The costume design by Deborah L. Scott (who also did the costume design to "Bad Boys II", "The Island", "Transformers" & the upcoming "Avatar") is great!

This is a great sequel to "Transformers" (2007). This is a fun and action-packed film that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is one of the best movies of the summer.

I'm not going to be snobby and say that there weren't parts of the movie I enjoyed. I like explosions and robot fights just as much as the next guy. Throwing in Megan Fox certainly helps to keep my interest. The problem is that the movie is all eye candy. It was okay to sit through once to see the great visuals, but there is not meat to the story. Everything was a set up to get to the next battle, the next explosion. I enjoyed some of the new robots, but the two ghetto bots grew increasing (jar jar binks) annoying as the movie went on. My son loved the movie, and I am sure most other 10 year old boys will too. As for adults, I think you can skip this one.

The Good:

- Action, action, and more action.

- This movie must hold the record for the most things blown up in a movie.

- Main characters weren't too bad to look at.

- Special effects were kinda cool.

The Bad:

- Plot - Robots needing to destroy our sun for energy? Lame

- The mother being attacked by a non-transformed waffle iron.

- Almost all of the robot tag-alongs were completely annoying.

- Cheesy romance/break up scenes throughout the movie

- Robot balls, oompa loompa sighting, and humping robot.

- The fact that I didnt care if they saved the world or not or if the robots died or not.

The movie provided some entertainment, although it was a little long. Not terrible, but certainly not an amazing movie. The comedic elements thrown in are just a distraction.

wow this is a great movie even better then the first one it tolled a different side of the orignal cartoon Series and magon fox is still hot!!!

The first transformer movie was very entertaining and I expected this one to follow suite: a little campy, but full of heart, awesome robots, and a story that can drive it all forward. Sadly, REVENGE OF THE FALLEN watches like a thirteen-year old's wet-dream version of the original. We have more Transformers (like 4x more), more fighting, more hot women in tight clothes, more explosions, more Shia delivering stupid lines, and more silly body humor (Micheal Bay: Robots don't fart, or have gold teeth, or hump people's legs, nor is there a 'robot heaven' !?!).

I guess the question I left the theater asking myself is this what people really want? Do moviegoers just want sequel after sequel that only adds to the franchise by cramming in more stuff? Has the 'more is always better' theory started to dominate film making to such an extent that we'll go gladly dump our money (myself included) on a movie this poorly made just because it promises more flash special effects and lots of explosions? I hope this isn't true, but judging by this movie's success at the box office, it just might be.

Other reviewers have adequately described most of the major problems with the film, but there were a few things that actually made me sad watching REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. The first and primary is that Optimus Prime (probably the coolest Transformer in my opinion) is given very few lines--a major mistake considering he is the only 'serious' Transformer, and voiced by a fantastic voice actor who dates back to the original Transformers cartoon. The film reveals that he is the very last 'Prime' Transformer, the most powerful that exist in the universe. This could be a remarkably cool story in itself, but the film is so filled up with other nonsense that Optimus is left on the sidelines (literally due to one of the most anticlimactic action sequences of the film which leaves him incapacitated). He is the voice of moral authority and wisdom in the original series, in the previous Hollywood offering, and in REVENGE as well. So why give him so few lines and why leave his character undeveloped?

Another sad thing is the brazenly idiotic portrayal of The Twins, two 'ghetto' robots who can't read, speak in jive, act like punks, and generally are such an idiotic stereotype that it makes you wonder what Michael Bay was thinking, and how they could even make it into the final version of the film. They add nothing but the lowest of low-brow humor all while being racial stereotypes of the worst variety. I mean common, a gold toothed robot? Seriously?

The plot line is a mad dash from one end of the film to the other, with very little room for any real character development to take place. Much screen time is given to massive robot battles in which it is sometimes pretty hard to tell which Transformer is which, and who is in fact winning. The MORE phenomenon really sinks the ship here because I found myself losing interest in what was happening simply because it was too hard to keep track of who was an Autobot and who was a Decepticon.

A film overpopulated with robots, unnecessary characters, and crammed full of as many explosions as possible, the movie left me feeling tired and frustrated. It's likely there will be a third Transformer installment in the future, and if Michael Bay directs, it boggles the mind trying to think of ways he could up the ante on action and poorly designed story. Perhaps he'll opt for 90 minutes of robots blowing the hell out of everyone and everything and skip the story entirely. If he does that, it might actually be better than this piece of garbage.

Soundwave just sat in orbit and did nothing, no fighting, he could have move over egypt during the fight scene and "brought the rain" but noooooooo. Starscream during the desert fight scene could have attack the same way he did in pt 1. It looked like Star went out of his way 2 NOT kill anybody; since when did he avoid trying 2 kill humans? Those foolish twins got the most screen time of all the bots and they seriously got 2 start moving away from having this series revolving around that Sam kid. Sure wish Rob Zombie would write and direct this.

The original Transformers movie is an ultimate favourite of mine and I was delighted when I first heard there was going to be a sequel and Bay was going to turn up the juice. Unfortunately, in comparison to the first movie, this fell flat in many ways and left me feeling a bit empty when leaving the theatre. The amount of Transformer characters in this movie is four times as many and they have a more prominent presence on Earth in terms of their co-operation with the government in tackling the Decepticon menace.

The story is set two years after the original. More Autobots have come to Earth and formed a government alliance with the humans known as NEST which has the aim of eradicating the Decepticon presence on Earth. We see the return of our favourite Transformers and our favourite human characters such as Sam Witwicky (LaBouf), Mikaela (Fox), Major Lennox (Duhamel), Agent Simmons (Turturro) and Master Sergeant Epps (Gibson). This time the humans and Autobots face their biggest enemy to date as they have to tackle one of the original Transformers, from the Dynasty of Primes known as the Fallen.

17,000 BC the Dynasty was on Earth and the Fallen wanted to harvest the sun which would provide Energons for the AllSpark. His fellow Primes disagreed with his plan as Earth was inhabited by humans so, in order to prevent him from starting the sun harvester destroying the planet, they sacrificed themselves and hid the Matrix of Leadership which powered the harvester. The Fallen vowed to take his revenge on Earth by finding the Matrix and starting up his sun harvester and destroying the humans. Now in the present, Sam Witwicky is going to college, Soundwave has joined the Decepticon forces by hacking into a government satellite to mobilise those who will help The Fallen achieve his revenge.

On paper the plot sounds like it could work wonders and translate into one hell of a blockbuster extravaganza, however, what it translated to was a film that didn't seem to know where it was going and what it was trying to achieve. The human characters had to naturally take a step back in order to make way for the new and larger presence of the transformers, but what this meant is that the film makers still needed a reason to keep them around which ultimately, was ridiculous. The goofy humour is back but becomes way too childish for my liking. Bumblebee peeing on one of the Sector 7 agents in the first movie was pretty funny but, despite what imbeciles will tell you, dogs humping aren't. Sam's parents are also given a bigger and more annoying role as an attempt at some form of comic relief and also end up falling flat by destroying the plot line by breaking away from an important moment in the movie to see the parents being stupid.

Talking about a lesser point of the human characters, although this is to make way for the higher level Transformer storyline, it does end up meaning you don't care what happens to any character. One of the more important people in the movie does get killed and I just found myself thinking "who cares?" which is something you don't want in a movie. The fighting in this sequel has been altered somewhat to get away from the confusion of the fight sequences of the first film. One of the better battle sequences pits Optimus against Megatron and Starscream. The look and set up for the battle is really well done and presents an exciting scene that presents the enjoyable aspect of this film.

There's much more good and bad that I could talk about this movie, but I think it's best that you discover that for yourself. If you liked the first film then you will enjoy this but feel a bit dry coming out of it and there's the likelihood you will still prefer the first live action film. Character voicing is good, human acting is OK and the pacing and construction of the story is abysmal to say the least. When you blend them all together you are presented with a summer blockbuster that is just OK and nothing more than that. Judging by the fact that Michael seems to have learned from his mistakes of the first film, I'm hoping that if he does make this a trilogy, he manages to repair the numerous mistakes made by this one.

Ignore the critics and the wannabe critics! This is an amazing blockbuster

experience. This film has the potential to be the best looking blu-ray yet

since the formats introduction three years ago.

Ice Age has produced has some excellent scores. David Newman's score to the first Ice Age movie was superb, it really was, to hear that he didn't, for whatever reason write the music for the last two films is strange to me since his effort made Ice Age; why, the opening music was instantly likeable and suited the image of the animals matching off to better lands. The release of Newman's score on to c.d is incomplete and that lets his brilliance in scoring Ice Age 1 down, odd that others who clearly haven't listened to it fail to understand how brilliant it was when I know so many who enjoy Newman's score greatly.

Powell however took over the project and created scores just as brilliant and epic. The moment in Ice Age 2, where we see and hear, finally the Mammoth herd march triumphantly through was immensely haunting, their calling out was enhanced by the sounds of trumpets and in Ice Age 3 Powell has developed many of his musical ideas and while it still is a comedic score it still holds the emotional depth the other two films had. Powell conveys sounds which are inspiring and hopeful, my only quibble is that some musical pieces are not long enough, as I believe Powell shines out when given more time to develop a musical piece; his work on Horton Hear's a Who! shows this; as he created a rich and wonderful sound, providing for our ears a comical, charming delight ... he understood how a Seuss world could sound had Seuss been a composer.

Powell and Newman both created a comedic sound for Ice Age, which reminds me of the work by Carl Stalling who wrote the scores for all of the Warner Bros cartoons. Music which can make you laugh out load shows how gifted these men are. They understand and as Ice Age has a no nonsense view of the world and the comedy which the music supports only supports this very wholesome view of life, which is honest and joyful and which leads me to see that kids films are wonderful these days; they only amplify the truths that matter ... well, the good ones do.

John Powell returns to score the light animated fare, Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs. The first film was scored by David Newman and was completely forgettable. Powell brought his fresh sound and style to the series with Ice Age: The Meltdown in what was one heck of a score. I still listen to that one all the time.

In the second film he established some themes that he touches base with in this score. So, we get lots of variations on these well known melodies that ooze with Powell's style. He has two trademarks that define him above all other composers; one is the way he strings his melodies in a sort of descending notion and the other is of course his percussion. Many of you may remember his amazing "Mini-Sloths Sing-A-Long" from the second film which is a perfect example of his percussive style. He goes a bit easy on the percussion with this score, but it's there (just a bit subtle) and I love it.

I guess one could argue that this score is just more of the same, but so what? Scores are one of the most important aspects of tying franchises together. Yes, there are the occasional "copy and paste" scores, but don't worry because you never get that with John Powell. Another complaint some people may have are the incredibly short track times. Yes, there are 44 tracks with some only 30 seconds long, but Powell fans should come to expect this. His score albums are gapless so they are meant for continuous listening. There are a few long tracks that provide a better solo listening experience, especially "End Credits" which sums up the album nicely.

Overall I'm happy to have another John Powell score in my hands. When stacked up against the second score and all his other animated scores this one does fall short, but that doesn't mean that this isn't an incredibly fun listen. I found the second one to have more emotionally driven music that really defined him as a composer, but this one almost gets there with the last few tracks. So, enjoy this one because we won't get any John Powell till Paul Greengrass' Green Zone.

Very funny toy.
Ok, this toy does not deserve 5 stars but the other reviews were far too harsh. The first 30 minutes of my chihuahua terrified by this thing were worth the price. As a stuffed animal it's very cute but not too cuddly because it's hard plastic under the fur. I love scrat in the movie and the sounds this thing makes are quite funny at first but the do get boring soon unless you have a family pet to terrorize like I do.

Here's another trick. Put Scrat on a pillow with your hadn behind him so you can make him move and wiggle his tail without being seen, then have someone bring in the family pet. When I lunged at the dog's feet he screamed as being run through a meet grinder. This may sound cruel but I assure you the dog was not hurt and now enjoys showing Scrat who's the boss whenever we turn him on.

IF YOU LOVE SCRAT, YOU'LL LOVE THIS TOY
Admittedly, the mechanical execution is a bit weak but so what. If you love the little critter and get a kick out of him, it really doesn't matter. Of course, in the spirit of Scrat, it sort of makes sense that he doesn't work quite right...

Great and funny toy
I don't know why poor Scrat got so many bad reviews. My kids absolutely LOVE this toy. They laugh hysterically every time and they're 4 1/2 and 7. He does have a tendency to fall down and doesn't scoot very well. But the laugh factor alone makes this well worth the money.

The Squirrel Takes It All
Ice Age: The Big Chill was very good and entertaining. Just seen The Meltdown and was thoroughly entertained. Hollywood finally put something out that didn't have a bunch of sex, blood and gore. Wonderful one liners and originality in this. The QUEEN did an outstanding job, and Ray just made it all the better. This would be one for the DVD Library for sure. Kids AND adults both had a great time. Thank you Hollywood for finally having something that was fun.

Just as funny as the first one
We went to see Ice Age 2 the day it came out, which generally guarantees an enthusiastic and rowdy crowd. Everyone there was laughing and clapping throughout.

Manny (Romano), Diego (Leary), and Syd (Leguizomo) are back. They've turned the heavily iced area into a camp for kids complete with ice slides and wading pools. But a vulture called Fast Tony (cameo by Jay Leno) warns everyone that the ice is melting and soon their valley will be flooded. So once again, everyone must migrate, fleeing to safer and higher ground. On the way, they meet 3 new friends: two opposums named Crash and Eddie (Sean Scott Williams and Josh Peck), and their "sister"- a mammoth named Ellie (Queen Latifah) who doesn't know she's a mammoth. Collectively, they continue on their migration. Syd and Diego try to convince Manny that Ellie can help him keep mammoths from going extinct, and a possible realtionship begins. But flood waters, horrid water creatures, and Ellie's massive identity crisis stumble them a bit along they way. Syd finds respect and reassurance from a secret tribe of sloth's that revere him as the "Fire God". But it's Scrat, everyone's favorite neurotic squirrel, that's the true star of this movie. My kids, and those all around us, laughed their heads off whenever Scrat's crazy acorn antics were on screen. My [...] old asked me today, "Can we go see Ice Age 2 again?". He didn't even say that after seeing "Curious George"! Fun for the whole family.

Pure family amusement
As my 3 year old daughter had worn down the video of the original Ice Age by overuse we decided to try Ice Age: The Meltdown as her introduction to the Movie Theaters.
And were we right. The minute the movie started she stopped fidgeting and kept relatively still. (she did whisper the characters names each time they appeared though).
We were all eager to see this sequel and the rest of the family simply adored it. The only con I might have is 'how can they possibly do a number three now?'
This is certainly on a par with Shrek 2, another sequel which didn't let down it's original.
Family entertainment at its best.

Global Warming That Melts The Heart
Ice Age and Ice Age 2: The Meltdown are 20th Century Fox's CGI successes. Both movies warm the heart; they make you appreciate the value of friends and family; they teach good morals. They are class-A family films (with the all important adult-asides).

There has been a tremendous proliferation of computer generated image films over the past couple of years which has certainly diluted the excitement that used to surround these movies. 2006 has got to set the record with 13...count 'em...13 releases that I can think of (Cars, The Wild, Happy Feet, Doogal, Open Season, Monster House, Chicken Little, Barnyard, Over the Hedge, The Ant Bully, Hoodwinked, Ice Age 2 & Flushed Away).

But the overkill of computer animation in 2006 should not sway anyone into missing Ice Age 2; it is the best of all 13 in 2006 by far. And if you've not seen the original, this 2-pack has your name all over it.

The picture is just awesome; this computer generated animation is amazing to see on a high-def TV. It's almost 3D. Unbelievable.

The Ice Age movies are classics and should not be missed by anyone, infant right up to senior movie-goer.

Laugh out loud funny !
Right from the start in part one you are laughing! Excellent animation wonderful characters. In part two that squirrel is still at it with the acorn. It is so funny. I am an adult and enjoy this a lot. Not just for kids anyone who likes to laugh will love these pictures.

Great value for 2 funny movies
Both movies for the price of 1, AWESOME! The only drawback is the set isn't available in widescreen, but that doesn't make this less of a deal or the movies less funny.
